THE PERRIN TECHNIQUE
The Perrin Technique™ is a hands-on approachto help provide relief for those suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME, Lyme’s disease, post viral fatigue (such as long covid), Fibromyalgia and related conditions.

The technique and underpinning theory is derived from the lifelong work of Dr Raymond Perrin (PhD), a UK based osteopath who has been refining his clinical diagnosis and treatment since 1989. His approach involves a specialised osteopathic diagnosis and treatment designed to improve the fluid flow around the brain and spinal cord and lymphatics.
This treatment uses osteopathic mannual techniques on areas of the body such as the chest, neck and back aiming to support the lymphatics and the balance of the autonomic nervous system which in turn helps the drainage toxins which may have built up.

What to expect during your first appointment
During the first appointment you will go through a detailed history (including any previous interventions you may have had) along with a postural and palpatory assessment of the lymphatics of the neck and breast region. This is considered an intimate area of the body, a consent form must be complete prior to examination. You are welcome to bring a chaperone.
There is no treatment during the initial appointment, we will discuss the findings of the examination, treatment plan and things you can do to support treatment. This is important as it allows you time to decide if this is the right course of treatment for you.

What to expect during your second appointment
This appointment typically takes an hour, you will be taught how to perform a self massage and movement routine to support the treatment given. Finally you will then receive the treatment which will include soft tissue techniques applied to the breast tissue. You comfort is paramount, consent will be requested throughout, you are welcomed to bring a chaparone with you to any appointment.

Subsequent appointments are 45 minutes long and will include a follow up chat, treatment and a review of home care.

For more information on this approach, fibromyalgia, post viral fatigue, and the current research on the treatment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and ME please see Dr Perrin's website.

How many appointments will I need?
Everyone is different, due to the nature of these conditions some may improve sooner than others, this is dependant on the starting point of treatment plan. Dr Perrin recommends a series of 12 weekly sessions to enable siginificant improvements, after this a reassessment is carried out to help identify the next stage of your treatment plan.
